The Training Begins...

My sister April came home this past weekend to attend Brock's Baptism.  She is a runner and has ran several races the past few years.  She has been trying to get me going with her, and I just can't grasp the idea.  Well, I think that it has finally worked.  I went for a jog with her on Friday, and she got telling me about a 10k in Boise in May.  I think that it is something that I can do, so I agreed and told her to sign me up.  I really do enjoy running, after I get in some sort of shape, of course.  So, today I hit it hard core, and I am going to try really hard to get my running in everyday that I am supposed to.  I know that 10k is not the longest of races, but I think that it will be a great accomplishment for me.  Who knows, maybe I will really enjoy it and do more this summer.... we'll see.

Brock's Baptism

I cannot believe that I have a kid old enough to be baptized. We just had a wonderful day. Brock was baptized, and I am so proud fo him for the choices that he has made to do so. He is such a good big brother, and a very good example to his sister and brothers. A big thanks goes out to all who took the time out of their Saturday to come and spend his special day with us!!!

Disneyland 2010

We had a blast in Disneyland.  Spence, the kids, and I drove down, and we met my parents who flew down.  We met them there on Friday, and headed straight to Disneyland.  It was so much fun, and the kids were in awe and everything there.  It is such a magical place.  We went to Disneyland Saturday and Sunday as well.  It rained pretty good on Saturday, but that was OK, the crowds were not too bad that way.  We went to breakfast at Goofy's Kitchen on Sunday, and got to eat and dance with some great characters.  On Monday, we went to Knott's Berry Farm.  They have some great rides, and the kids loved the log ride.  Tuesday was Sea World day.  They kids absolutely loved the animals.  They can't believe that the whales could be trained like that.  They got to feed and pet the dolphins, and the Manna Rays.  Brock got soaked feeding the rays.  They got fighting over a piece of fish, and splashed everyone nearby.  It was a great moment.  We went back to Disneyland on Wednesday to get in the last few rides and shows that we had missed, and ran like crazy to get it all in.  Thursday we went to the beach and let the kids put their toes in the ocean.  Putting their toes in turned into the waves knocking them over.  It was hysterical.  Jordan could never outrun the waves.  After the beach we went to lunch, then dropped my parents off at the airport.  They left a day earlier than planned, to be home for a funeral.  After that, we went back to the hotel and let the kids swim.  That evening we went back to Downtown Disney, and got the kids their last round of Cotton Candy, Kettle Corn, and one last souvenir.  We got up early Friday, and started for home.  We drove all day, and got home late that night.  It was a long day, but the kids were awesome in the car.  Well, except for the "Mom, when will we be their?"  2 million times!!!!  We had a great trip, and I am so glad that my parents we able to go and make some great memories with us.

My 8 Year Old

I cannot believe that I have an 8 year old.  It seems like I just had him.  Brock is such a great boy, and wonderful brother and a fantastic son.  He is always willing to help out and hardly ever complains.  I love watching him grow up.  He had his first Bishops interview yesterday for his baptism.  He sat there so grown up and answered all of the questions as if he were a pro.
Brock was the best birthday present that I have ever received.  I had him on my 22nd birthday. (Yes, do the math, it is my birthday too.  Luckily I don't feel that old.)  If he would have been born 14 minutes later he would have been on the 16th.  It was a long hard 16 hours of labor, followed by a high stress c-section.  He was born as perfect as ever, with a ton of black hair.  I never thought that I could love a child like I did that day 8 years ago.  Happy Birthday Brock.  I hope that you have a wonderful day!!

Prayers for the Hadley's

We just got back from Disneyland (pictures to come later) and on our first day there we got a phone call from Angie saying that Adam's dad Dave had passed away.  We had such a hard time, being so far away and feeling so helpless.  Luckily, Abbey was able to come home and help Angie with the kids while my parents and us were in California. My heart and prayers go out to Adam and Angie at this time.  It hurts me so bad to have a loved one so sad.   Adam has always been like a brother to me and his dad was a great man who raised a wonderful son.  We love you Adam and Angie!!!
